What are the design requirements for safety helmets?
The design of safety helmets must strictly adhere to national standards (GB 2811-2019, Head Protection – Safety Helmets.

I. Classification and Classification Marking Requirements
. Classification by Performance:
General Type (P): Suitable for general workplaces; possesses basic protective capabilities.
Special Type (T): In addition to basic protection, possesses one or more special properties (e.g., flame retardancy, lateral rigidity, resistance to low temperatures, resistance to extreme high temperatures, electrical insulation, anti-static properties, resistance to molten metal splashes, etc.); suitable for specialized workplaces.
. Classification Marking: Consists of the product name and performance markings. The corresponding performance characteristics must be selected and marked in the specified sequence (e.g., a safety helmet possessing both lateral rigidity and low-temperature resistance would be marked as: Safety Helmet (T LD -30℃)).
. Basic Structure: Composed of a shell, a suspension system (including a headband, sweatband, crown straps, shock-absorbing pads, etc.), a chin strap, and accessories.
II. Labeling and Instruction Requirements
. Permanent Marking: Must be clearly and permanently displayed on the inner surface of the helmet body. It must include, at a minimum: the standard number (GB 2811), manufacturer's name, production date (Year/Month), product name, classification marking, and mandatory service life expiration date.
. Product Instructions: Each safety helmet must be accompanied by an instruction manual containing information on fitting and adjustment methods, warning statements (e.g., the requirement to replace the helmet after sustaining a severe impact), intended usage environments, maintenance and care procedures, and criteria for disposal.
